Where we are now

Since its humble beginnings smena has evolved into a well established fashion brand. In November 2007, Krista McRae joined the smena team bringing her design skills and attention to fine detail. Jaki and Krista worked side by side is creating a new direction for smena, with focus on design, construction and sourcing of high quality materials. Continuing development in bags and belts, a fascination with smaller accessories was explored. We shared a passion for creating stylish utilitarian products, that were clean and simple in design, yet functional for everyday use.

Smena's latest collection, Eva was born.

The collection offers an array of products for organising your life in

Style, including wallets, travel wallets, document folders and business card holders. Carefully selected kangaroo hides were the inspiration for this collection, not only chosen for the amazing strength and durability but for the luxurious finish and lustre to compliment each design.

With the evolution of the collection, the smena philosophy remained the same.

Mixing timeless simplicity with high quality leathers, each piece is worked from design conception to production in collaboration with skilled craftsmen and women in Australia. Smena aims to be innovative, ethical and resourceful in our design techniques and research into sustainable new materials.
